Summer fun

by peter | Aug 16, 2009 | in

Wavy and Henry and I played hooky the other day and went fishing in the little stream that borders our property.  It was Wavy's first time and Henry's second time going fishing.  Wavy caught a beautiful 6 inch brook trout, which we ate for dinner.  Plus we went out for ice cream at Aunt Dee's, which isn't really called Aunt Dee's anymore, but if you live in the Peacham/Barnet area you know the store I am talking about.  It was an awesome afternoon.

Scenes from market

Waverly face painting Olivia. Henry and Coulter talking trucks. There was some veggie selling going on, but also a lot of kid hanging out!

Emma staffed the register at the end of market.

Wavy brought her journal home from school, and this was one of my favorite entries.

Wavy on the farm

by peter | Jun 11, 2009 | in

Waverly worked with us on the farm today. She helped transplant and weed, which is about all we did today.

Packing trays of seedlings for planting

Wavy took this cool picture of one of the winter squashes we were transplanting

She took this picture of Tamsin and Stewart shoveling remay

And enjoying one of the first tomatoes of the season out of the greenhouse at the end of the day

Rivers and dams

by maryellen | Mar 10, 2009 | in

Henry and Wavy worked this afternoon creating river systems in the mud by the greenhouse so that the water would drain and not into the greenhouses.

It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it!!

Lily helps out

Lily helped Wavy measure out half pound bags of spinach for the St. J CSA pickup Wednesday night. They were extremely good at it!!

Vegetables for everyone every day!

by maryellen | Aug 25, 2008 | in

Sarah, Anna, Waverly and I were sitting around the kitchen table talking politics, in particular worrying about how folks are going to be afford to stay warm this winter and still have money left over for food. Anyway, Wavy said if she were president she'd want everyone to be able to eat every day, good healthy food including veggies, tomatoes even. (I love her!!) And we were all like oh Wavy that should so be your platform! Vegetables for everyone every day!!

So Anna made her this beautiful banner to get her started. Thank you Anna!!!

This is Wavy and her banner with our dear friend Kristina, one of the proprieters of the hot new restauraunt, Claire's. Sarah and Anna left us this past weekend, to go back to college. Which stinks. We had a fabulous going away dinner at Claire's before they went though. Thanks Kristina and everyone at Claire's!!

The very nice band let Wavy and Henry rock out for a bit.
